Gamer Talk: Character Discussion

I am sure that some of you will know who, tingle is. Do you like him? Well I personally do, however many gamers do not. For those who do not know who he is; he is a character from the legend of zelda (Majoras Mask onwards, including hand-held games). He is a very weird and bizarre character and it is for this that many people do not "like him" or, as is most likely, understand him. It is rumored that he was not included, as is seen in the image above, in the dark feeling Twilight Princess as many Americans Do not like him, or as aforementioned understand him. I feel a little sadness that he was not included. While i do not really understand why such a weird character is in The legend of of Zelda series I have grown to appreciate his inventiveness as a character. This is where I fell many, if not most games companies go wrong. they put you in control/ introduce you to a character that you have no connection with apart from knowing his/her/its name and, sex and what you have been set out to achieve. I feel that is where Nintendo have the upper hand. In addition they bring there unique character creation into the racing genre with the F-ZERO series. Typically racing games put you in control of a soulless unnamed figure that can drive. Therefore I love interesting and strange characters, that have taken designers time to create and mold their lives, as this allows the gamer to experience and reap more out of a game. Therefore over time it feels more like a a virtual world than a soulless game.
