Gamer Talk: Shenmue

After seeing the Shenmue murial painting (Sttop motion) video on Kotaku I have got the Shenmue bug. I really want them to carry the series on. They should do it on the PS3 so that Shenmue can reclaim its crown as the most advanced/detailed computer game in the world. However I am leaning to them releasing it on the Wii. Why? Well Sega could not only utilise the Wiimote in very interesting ways, they would have lower production costs due to the Wii's lesser graphical power and would be able to take advantage of its high uptake. However they would have more power at their disposal than they did with the Dreamcast, so the graphics would be more detailed than the original two games. In addition they could release release it in downloadable chapters once nintendo get their act together and set out their hdd plans. However the way Sega is these days it takes very little risks and is not producing the interesting quirky games it did during its Dreamcast days (e.g. Crazy Taxi). Then again if the rumers of Samba de Amigo Wii are true Sega are just scaling back the quirky creative games in favour of increased profit which atleast ensures that our beloved sega is with us for many years to come! So will Sega ever continue Shenmue......who knows? But I , along with many other games sure hope they do.
